May 4, 2024 at 7:10 amWhile Charles Schwab offers a self-directed 401k plan that can be self-directed into equities, they do not offer a self-directed 401k that allows for investing in alternative investments such as real estate, for example.
However, Charles Schwab does provide brokerage accounts known as company retirement accounts for self-directed solo 401k providers such as My Solo 401k Financial which can in turn be invested in both equities as well as alternative investments such as real estate, private shares, crypto, tax liens, notes, etc..
With My Solo 401k Financial, individuals can open a self-directed solo 401k plan that allows for investment in a wide range of assets including real estate, precious metals, tax liens, and more, while using Charles Schwab as the brokerage to hold the funds. This arrangement provides the plan holder with checkbook control for making investments directly from the solo 401k Schwab brokerage account.
